Accommodation

Spacious and luxuriously appointed deluxe rooms each have a telephone and TV including 6 DSTV channels, separate bath and shower, private patio. Twin or double beds. Gowns and safes provided. Non-smoking.

Superior Mountain Facing or family rooms are comfortably appointed. A louvre door separates main bedroom from sunroom suitable for 2 young children. Telephone and TV including 6 DSTV channels. Bath and shower, private patio. Twin or double beds. Non-smoking.

The Superior Garden facing rooms consist of two rondavels and two normal hotel rooms. Comfortably appointed. Telephone and TV including 6 DSTV channels, separate bath and shower. Twin or double beds. Non-smoking.

The Luxuriously appointed self-catering chalet each have spectacular mountain views. 3 twin-bedded bedrooms (one open-plan in loft with private dressing room) and 3 bathrooms with shower, one with bath & shower. Open-plan lounge, dining room, kitchen including microwave. Telephone and TV including 6 DSTV channels. Open fireplace in lounge and private patio with Weber braai, table and chairs. Serviced daily. Non-smoking. Meals may be taken in the main restaurant by prior arrangement at an extra cost.

Directions

From Durban: A) Along the N3, pass Shell Ultra City and take the Exit 194, Winterton/Bergville/Colenso glide off (R74). Turn left and proceed for 20km to Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn left onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. Cross over, Thokosiza is on your left. B) Alternative Route: Short Cut: Use during daylight hours only: Take EXIT 179 at Estcourt North/ Giants Castle/Loskop/ Central Drakensberg. Travel for approximately 20 minutes, until the crossroads. Turn left into the R600. Thokosiza is on your left hand side. ******** Continue for ± 19 km (you will pass The Nest Hotel and Champagne Sports Resort.) Continue towards Champagne Castle Hotel. Go past the "Dragon Peaks / Drakensberg Boys Choir School" entrance, on your right, proceed up a steep S-bend. Continue straight on to Champagne Castle Hotel. You have arrived! From Johannesburg: A) Scenic Route: CAUTION: Do not follow this route in wet or freezing conditions Johannesburg to Harrismith on N3. At Harrismith take EXIT 29. Turn right onto N5 towards BETHLEHEM/BLOEMFONTEIN. Proceed for ± 5 km, turn left onto the R712 QWA-QWA/BERGVILLE road. Proceed for ± 10kms. Turn left again on the BERGVILLE/OLIVIERSHOEK PASS road. Continue past Sterkfontein dam, down Oliviershoek Pass, straight through Bergville and onto Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn right onto the R600, CENTRAL BERG road, proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. Cross over, Thokosiza is on your left. ******* See above B) Freeway Route: Johannesburg to Van Reenen's Pass on the N3. Take the first glide off after the Tugela Toll Plaza, which is at the bottom of Van Reenen's Pass. Turn left for ± 4 km on the N11 and then turn right towards WINTERTON onto the R600. You will cross over the N3 concrete highway. At the T-junction (R74), turn left towards Winterton. In Winterton, opposite the Engen garage, turn right onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. Cross over, Thokosiza is on your left. ******* See above C) Alternatively: you may continue on the N3 from the tollgate towards Estcourt (for about 38kms), until you reach EXIT 194, the R74/BERGVILLE/COLENSO/GREYTOWN glide off. Turn right over the bridge and proceed for ± 20 kms to Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn left onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. Cross over, Thokosiza is on your left. ******* See above
