DescriptionEnjoy heavenly scenery all around you from the peace and privacy of your own home from home cottage or suite in the stunning CHAMPAGNE VALLEY. Look up at the imposing Drakensberg Mountains of Champagne and Cathkin, with nearby access to the Peaks of Cathedral peak, the majestic Amphitheatre at Royal Natal National Park and Giants Castle. All these areas are waiting for you to explore and each area differs totally. Once home in the afternoons enjoy the rock pool and the beauty of South African sunsets, from your own verandah. Being just 4 km off the road that leads into the mountains we have the best of both worlds, total peace and quiet and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but you are near the local restaurants and hotels for meals etc. Beware of cutting your time here, as there is so much to do and see, it is not unknown for a guest to arrive for 3 days and stay for 12! They leave as friends. Delicious and plentiful breakfasts are served when possible on the lawn in the shade of an acacia tree, any type of breakfasts are offered and if you find the views so relaxing request another cup of coffee and take your time! Chat to your hostess about the local activities and restaurants etc and even for recommendations for your next stop. Local activities must include a visit to Drakensberg Boys School choir, and you will return bemused by the sounds of Africa that you hear from such beautiful young voices. Play golf and all other sports are available, at the famous Champagne Sports Resort, or the 9 hole courses of Cathedral Peak and Monks Cowl. Falcoln Ridge fly their birds most mornings and is fast becoming world famous for their show and the knowledge they impart. For the adventurous contact 4 Rivers Rafting and Adventures to enquire about white water rafting in season, quad biking and other activities. Then there are the horse trails for both the experienced rider and the novice, experience the beauty of the Drakensberg World Heritage site from horse back, a whole new perspective! The main attraction however, has to be the Mountain, for either a leisurely walk or a vigorous hike, and there are so many to choose from you could be here for weeks and still need to return for more. If country life is for you, then you have found your venue!
